The Northeastern Political Science Association will hold its 40th annual meeting on November 13-15, 2008 at the Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. Proposals for papers, panels, or to serve as a chair and/or discussant must be submitted before June 15, 2008 through the NPSA submission website. (Once on the submission website, create a username and password and follow the instructions.)
NPSA prohibits multiple paper submissions. Only one paper submission per person will be accepted. However, paper presenters may also serve as chair or discussant on a second panel or roundtable. Questions should be directed to the appropriate Section Chair below.
1. Ancient and Medieval Political Philosophy
All aspects of ancient (Greek, Roman) and medieval (Jewish, Christian, Islamic) political thought.

2. Modern Political Theory
Machiavelli to Marx.
Diana M. Judd (Political Science, William Paterson)
3. Continental Political Thought
Including but not limited to German idealism, phenomenology, hermeneutics, existentialism, post-structuralism, post-modernism, critical theory, French feminism, Nietzsche and Marxism.
David A. Freeman (Political Science, Washburn University)
4. Democratic Theory
All topics in contemporary democratic theory including deliberative democracy, identity politics, group rights, and citizenship.
Patricia Moynagh (Government and Politics, Wagner College)
5. American Political Thought
All topics in contemporary American political thought.
David Alvis (Government, University of West Florida)
